The Ribbon Skirt Instructional PDF
Do you have all of your own fabric, ribbons and thread?
Do you have a specific colour combination or special material you would like to use for your own ribbon skirt? I am offering my instructional PDF on how to make a ribbon skirt in a version accessible to all Indigenous Nations.
These instructions are designed to be a first sewing project, with simple enough instructions for anyone to follow who is new to sewing.
(Metis specific version coming October 2022!)
The Métis version of the PDF includes lessons, stories, history and traditions of the Ribbon Skirt and is intended for a Métis audience from across Canada, no matter their geography.
The All-Nation PDF is an basic instructional PDF to help you make a simple, straight ribbon skirt from scratch, with no traditional knowledge or bias, as I do not presume to teach or share the knowledge of others.
